Based on Alexandre Dumas’ La Dame aux Camélias, it tells the story of Violetta, a Parisian courtesan who sacrifices her love for Alfredo to preserve his family’s honor. With soaring arias, heartfelt duets, and powerful choruses, Verdi captures both the intimacy of human emotion and the grandeur of the opera stage.
